Pace Layers of Commerce

Pace Layers of Commerce: An Introduction

Building a long-lasting brand is something every single brand owner/operator wants to do. Regardless if we’re in this game for an eventual exit or not, we must approach our task at hand with this mindset or we lose to the competition.

There is no recipe. No “one size fits all” playbook. It’s unfortunate.

But the good news is we have the shoulders of other builders to stand on. Learning from them. Applying their advice and frameworks to our own org.

The best operators look to frameworks that have stood the test of time, and “Pace Layering” is one I want to explore briefly in this edition of Sunday Stories. This send will be an introduction to the concept, and the following Sunday sends will be dedicated to exploring the Layers in-depth.

My hope with this exploration is to give ourselves a solid framework in which to make key business decisions with. Understanding the macro-ecosystem and its moving parts allows us to make key decisions within each “Layer” or micro-ecosystem. In fact, the proposed “Pace Layers of Commerce” concept is a smaller part of a bigger “Pace Layers” as you’ll soon find out.

Let’s get into it.
